IRENA collaborates with various organisations to develop synergies that promote the widespread and increased adoption of renewable energy.


IRENA partners with over 70 organisations, focusing on different regions and topics to advance the energy transition, such as climate change adaptation, sustainable finance and electrification. These synergies combine the knowledge, tools and expertise of IRENA and partnering organisations to create collaborations that optimise efforts towards the energy transition through diverse activities including mobilising capital and capacity building.

In 2016, IRENA entered a partnership with USAID in sustainable development joint initiatives and activities to support developing renewable energy in sub-Saharan Africa.
