This tool enables users to download IRENA’s renewable electricity capacity and generation statistics and query the dataset to select countries, years and technologies. IRENA’s electricity statistics are available for the year 2000 onwards and cover all countries and areas in the World. In addition to total renewable electricity, more detailed data can also be selected by technology and sub-technology.
Desktop version
This version uses VBA macros that have to be enabled for the menus to work and it will only work in the desktop version of Excel. Users can select countries, technologies, years and the layout of output tables and the tool will present the selection on a separate sheet. User selections cannot be saved, but the output table can be copied to other worksheets.
Office online version
This version uses data slicers (filters) and will work in the Office 365 (online) version of Excel and the desktop version. Users can select countries, technologies and years, but the layout of output tables is fixed. The tool includes an output table showing individual records and it also includes IRENA’s public investment data. Saving the file will save the last data selection.
